IRV Design is Nick Swift’s ceramics practice. He started working with clay in Lafayette, Indiana, where he developed his foundation at the Lafayette Art Museum. After moving to Connecticut, he spent time in a few different studios before settling in at Junk Pot Studio in West Hartford.

Nick makes functional, one-of-a-kind pieces with a focus on form, balance, and feel. What began as an effort to refine weight and shape has grown into an ongoing exploration of surface, texture, and movement. His work continues to evolve through hands-on experimentation and a curiosity for what each piece can become.
